Floaty chiffon floral maxi dresses, print jumpsuits and silky slip dresses have been filling our wardrobes this summer. The heatwave has been glorious but as we head into that awkward inter-seasonal period we have the sartorial dilemma where it’s too hot for heavy layers, yet the chillier mornings and evenings mean we need ‘something extra’.
Enter our layering t-shirts – perfect for slipping under those summer staples to give a whole new look:
Under slip dresses
Silk ‘sleepwear as daywear’ slip dresses have been everywhere this summer for that minimalist 90s look. Popping one of our short-sleeved iconic tees underneath will not only add another layer, but they’re a great option for those who need to wear a bra with strappy dresses.
Under maxi dresses
Adding trainers and a white tee under a floaty print maxi dress immediately changes the look and can toughen up even the ditsiest floral.
Under lacy camisoles
We love this off-duty look, layering our classic round neck t-shirt under a diaphonous layer of silk. This cami from Boden comes in 4 colours – we love it with classic blue jeans and our leopard print flats. Just add a blazer come autumn.
Under strappy jumpsuits and playsuits
In the heatwave we have been wearing our Dilli Grey maxi print dresses and jumpsuits non-stop – and we’re not packing them away just yet. Add one of our scoop-neck tees and maybe a denim jacket and we’ll get another couple of months wear out of them!
Why not add one of our print scarves for an extra layer? Great now when travelling on flights, as a sarong or light-weight blanket and great to keep the chill away, come autumn.
