What we've been up to, and another yummy recipe from @cheriedenhamcooks
We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe. We haven’t been in contact for a couple of weeks and just wanted to let you know what we have been up to…
After much cajoling and food treat bribery my in-house model (aka the daughter) is back, this time showing off my Slash Neck t-shirt, which she styled herself - and I love this yellow combo. The perfect outfit for this beautiful weather we’re having, and I’m so grateful for it as the sunshine definitely makes everything feel brighter literally!
If you follow YUNION T on Instagram you may have noticed that I have not been posting too much of late as I have felt slightly strange about doing so during these challenging times, and it’s difficult to gauge whether it feels like the right thing to do or not. I am a small business, and at the moment social media is one of the only ways to communicate.
However, I like many others need to keep business ticking along, as it’s not just me that it effects but a string of people from the garment manufacturers, fabric manufacturers, to all my brilliant suppliers.
My range is non-seasonal, ethically made in the UK and made to last - so I’m a firm believer in buy better and buy less. So, if you are cleaning out your wardrobe and your old tees are looking like they have seen better days, you know where we are. 😀
Please support small British businesses, as they truly are the country’s back bone, and just so that you know, we are going to extend our 10% donation of all sales to NHS Charities Together until the end of June 2020. 🌈🌈🌈
Gift Wrapping Available
Also, with any of our collections from the tees to accessories I can offer free gift wrapping if you want to order anything as a present for someone and I can ship direct to them – the option to ship to is available at checkout and then you can just drop me an email once you have ordered to let me know if you want this gift wrapped.
Another yummy recipe from @cheriedenhamcooks
In my last blog I mentioned I had another @cheriedenhamcooks recipe, and below is another delicious example from this very talented lady who is based in Hampshire.
Cherie is a cook, recipe developer, cooking demonstrator - she creates her own delicious recipes. She started her training at Leith's in London, and over the years has cooked for many famous A list clients. She is a dear friend of mine, and like many of us, she is now based at home, looking after her 3 boys and coming up with some exciting lockdown menus. 5 sticks celery finely diced
1 small swede peeled & cut into 1" chunks
3 sprigs rosemary finely chopped
3 sprigs thyme finely chopped
2 tsp ras el hanout
1 bay leaf
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground coriander
1 yellow pepper deseeded & cut into 1" chunks
4 medium potatoes peeled & cut into 1" chunks
1 tin plum tomatoes
570ml/ 1pt vegetable stock
1 tin chickpeas
Herbed Yoghurt
150ml/ 150g Greek Style Yoghurt Yeo Valley

METHOD
1. Preheat oven to 200fan/400f/GM6/Aga – Roasting oven.
2. Mix the butternut squash and carrots in a bowl, drizzle with some of the oil and season. Place in the oven for 40mins to roast. This brings out their sweetness.
3. Heat the remaining oil in a large pan, add the onions and soften over a medium heat for 15mins until really gently caramelised.
5. Add the celery and garlic, cook for about 5mins and then add the swede, rosemary, thyme, bayleaf, ras el hanout, cumin and coriander. Cook for a further 5mins before adding the yellow pepper.
6. After 5mins add the potatoes, the roast butternut squash and carrots. Give a good stir and then pour into a large casserole pot.
7. Add the tinned tomatoes, stock and chickpeas with their liquid. Bring to the boil & place in the oven for 2- 2 1/2hrs.
8. Serve with the yoghurt.
I hope you enjoy the recipe.
